How fast does Safoa support respond?

WhatsApp messages get a reply within about 14 minutes during working hours (8am–8pm GMT). Email is answered within 4 working hours, Monday to Friday. For urgent live problems — a stuck payment, a failed SMS dispatch, a lockout — WhatsApp is the fastest channel.

What support channels does Safoa offer for property management software help?

Can I import my existing tenants and leases?

Yes. For portfolios under 50 tenants the import is self-service via a CSV template inside Safoa. For larger portfolios, our team handles the import for you at no extra cost — send a spreadsheet of properties, units, tenants and active leases, and we'll have it loaded inside one working day.

What if my tenant can't use MoMo?

Accepted Answer

Cash receipts and bank deposits are fully supported. You record the payment in Safoa, the tenant gets a receipt over SMS or WhatsApp, and the ledger reconciles cleanly. No tenant is ever required to use mobile money — it just makes things faster for the ones who do.

Is Safoa compliant with data-protection laws across Africa?

Sissakili Global Limited Company operates Safoa as a registered data controller in Ghana under the Data Protection Act 2012. Tenant and landlord data is encrypted at rest, processed on Supabase infrastructure, and accessible to you for export or deletion on request. For landlords operating in Nigeria (NDPR), Kenya (DPA 2019), South Africa (POPIA), and other jurisdictions, our processing meets the substantive obligations of those laws too. What happens to my data if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

You keep full access until the end of your paid period. After that, your data stays available for download — PDF and CSV — for 90 days. After 90 days it's permanently deleted in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act 2012 and equivalent requirements across our other supported jurisdictions. We never sell or share landlord or tenant data.

Do I have to be in Africa to use Safoa?

No. Safoa is used by landlords across Anglophone African markets — Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia, and Cameroon — and also by diaspora landlords managing African properties from abroad. Everything works over a normal mobile data connection. The team answers your WhatsApp and email from our office in Accra.

Accepted Answer

Solo is free for one active tenant. Landlord suits up to 10 tenants, Portfolio up to 30 with a multi-property dashboard, and Agency is for property managers running multiple landlord clients with unlimited tenants and multi-owner reporting. Compare them all at mysafoa.com/pricing.

Yes. The WhatsApp AI Assistant answers tenants from their lease in seconds — outstanding balance, payment history, lease details, payment instructions — and escalates to you when it can't, all over the WhatsApp tenants already use.

Can I send bulk SMS broadcasts to my tenants?

Accepted Answer

Yes — compose a message, choose a segment (everyone, a property, tenants in arrears, leases expiring soon, or a custom audience) and send. Delivery runs through our SMS providers with automatic failover, and you can see who received it. See the pricing page for which plans include bulk broadcasts and your SMS allowance.

Can I send documents to tenants over WhatsApp?

Accepted Answer

Sending documents over WhatsApp is on our roadmap. Today, lease documents and reports download as PDF or CSV, and tenants receive payment receipts in the tenant app and by SMS or WhatsApp.

Question 13

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Accepted Answer

Upgrade any time from Settings → Billing — it takes effect immediately and is prorated to your renewal date. Downgrades apply at the end of your current billing period, so you keep everything you've paid for until then.
